Debian Jessie no detecta la nueva Wacom Intuos (CTL490DB)

Question

Recientemente instalé Debian Jessie en mi computadora y compré una nueva tableta Wacom Intuos. Esperaba poder simplemente conectarlo y usarlo, como lo hice con los dispositivos Wacom en Debian en el pasado, sin embargo, este no fue el caso.

La herramienta de configuración de la tableta Wacom de GNOME es totalmente incapaz de detectar la tableta, tal como está xsetwacom --list devices. /dev/wacomno existe.

He intentado instalar xf86-input-wacom,según la wiki de Debian, sin embargo, apt informa que el paquete no existe. Además, wacom-toolsno se encuentra por ningún lado, a pesar de que la guía de WacomTablets sugiere que podría ayudar a que las tabletas Wacom funcionen.

Cada vez que vuelvo a conectar el dispositivo, dmesg -wencuentra:

Tuve el mismo problema (misma tableta, mismo sistema operativo) y finalmente pude resolver el problema siguiendo esta guía:

construir el módulo del kernel para wacom desde cero tomó aproximadamente 10 minutos.
