Mi computadora comenzó a colgarse en la pantalla de bienvenida. No puedo iniciar una sesión X local, pero aún puedo seleccionar rescatar desde GRUB e iniciar desde un tty. Además, sshd y el servidor xrdp parecen funcionar normalmente desde una computadora remota.

ejecutar sudo apt-get install fglrxy reiniciar parece haber resuelto el problema.
Para empezar, no tengo idea de cómo se corrompió esto, agradezco cualquier comentario.
Había estado iniciando sesión de forma remota desde una macbook a través de mi red local sshy xrdp(a través del cliente MS y a través del escritorio remoto de Chrome), perdí la conexión de red y cuando conecté un monitor noté que la pantalla estaba colgada en la pantalla de bienvenida.
