Estoy intentando instalar GIMP para Ubuntu 12.10 desde el centro de software de Ubuntu, pero cada vez que lo intento, aparece la repetición de que no puedo acceder al repositorio y tengo que verificar mi conexión a Internet. Esto funciona correctamente con Firefox y Thunderbird. Además aparece la información de que no se puede instalar un programa no seguro debido a la falta de autenticación. ¿Alguien puede dar alguna explicación?

Abrir una terminal,
Presione Ctrl+ Alt+T
Ejecutarlo:
sudo -i
nano /etc/apt/sources.list
En el archivo abierto, elimine el contenido y pegue esto:

Ctrl + O, guardar archivo. Ctrl + X, cierra nano.
Continuar ejecutando en una terminal:
sudo -i
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
apt-get install gimp
apt-get clean
