Ubuntu 17.04 + Netgear WNA 1100 (Atheros AR9271) - Redes Wifi visíveis, mas não conectando

Estou executando o Ubuntu-17.04 através de um USB inicializável de 16 GB. O Ubuntu não está instalado no USB ou no disco.
Computador desktop HP ProDesk, sem Wifi. Estou usando um dongle USB NetGear WNA 1100 (Atheros AR9271).

Consigo ver todos os SSIDs do Wifi, mas quando digito a senha e tento conectar, isso não acontece. Atualmente estou usando meu telefone via tethering USB.

> sudo apt-get update   
> sudo apt-get upgrade   
> sudo service network-manager restart

Além disso, não me ajudou a conectar ao wifi. Eu também instalei oath9k_htc-installer_1-0-4.debdehttps://sourceforge.net/projects/ath9k-htc/files/ath9k_htc-installer/como recomendo emhttps://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardwareSupportComponentsWirelessNetworkCardsNetgear#USB

Eu encontrei a resposta para isso.

sudo vi /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf

adicionar

[device]
wifi.scan-rand-mac-address=no

final do arquivo e salve-o. reinicie a rede de serviço e o NetworkManager

funcionou no live-usb
funcionou no instalado
