Tenho o 11.04 instalado com o Gnome 3 e tudo estava funcionando bem até tentar executar o gerenciador de atualização. Agora não consigo atualizar nenhum dos meus pacotes. Um similarperguntafoi postado há algum tempo, mas nenhuma solução foi apresentada

Depois de instalar cada um dos pacotes (via sudo apt-get install [package]) que foram retidos, tudo parece normal. Então, por que tive que reinstalar tudo? Presumo que tenha a ver com o gnome3, já que cada pacote foi instalado por meio de seu repositório.

Descobri que às vezes o gerenciador de pacotes não consegue lidar com a extensão das alterações que um PPA específico está solicitando para ser atualizado.
Por exemplo, o gerente começa a processar um arquivo, mas desiste de reivindicar dependências erradas - sem analisar melhor se um pacote/ou pacotes posteriores no PPA teriam atendido essa dependência.
Nestes casos, você deve fazer o seguinte - executar em um terminal
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
Isso lhe dará uma lista de pacotes que não podem ser instalados.
Percorra a lista um por um tentando instalá-lo, ou seja
sudo apt-get install <package name>
Depois de fazer isso, repita os comandos de atualização/atualização e repita o restante dos pacotes/novos pacotes que está solicitando. Talvez seja necessário fazer isso algumas vezes até que todos os pacotes estejam instalados.
