Estou usando o Kubuntu 15.04. De repente (sem fazer upgrade), quando faço login, meu plasma não inicia. Estou na área de trabalho com meus aplicativos abertos, mas sem painéis, sem menu, sem plano de fundo.
sudo plasmashell funciona (mas como root), não como um usuário normal. Vou tentar atualizar agora, mas estou um pouco preocupado em consertar isso primeiro. Talvez eu deva verificar um log específico?
Isso poderia ser um problema de permissões? Tenho usado o Dolphin como root para resolver as permissões de gravação de um problema de backup, talvez tenha sido uma má ideia.

Mudei a propriedade de todos os arquivos em /home/me para mim mesmo. Depois, tentando rodar o plasmashell:

Recentemente configurei minha variável DL_LIBRARY_PATH em .bashrc. Isso poderia estar interferindo? (olhando paraesserelatório de erro)

Criei um novo usuário. O Plasma funciona perfeitamente para esse usuário. É um pouco chato ter que fazer todas as configurações da minha área de trabalho novamente, mas ok... Acho que foi um problema de permissão então? Nenhuma pista...

Definitivamente um problema de permissões. Consegui abrir o gerenciador de usuários (sudo plasmashell no konsole que estava aberto (graças a Deus) e as configurações do sistema). Criar um novo usuário (e fazer login com esse usuário) parecia ter resolvido o problema.
Depois fui estúpido o suficiente para fazer sudo chown -R me /home/me e estragou tudo de novo! Após 10 anos de uso do Linux, eu deveria saber disso. As permissões de arquivos ocultos são importantes...
