
Eu tenho um Dell Latitude E6410 executando o Ubuntu 15.04 mais recente (veja detalhes no final desta pergunta). Acho que tenho o mesmo problema com o TrackPoint descrito em:

Mas ler esse link me deixa confuso sobre como realmente instalar esse pacote a partir dos repositórios do Ubuntu (e quero dizer instalá-lo sem muito esforço, como baixar e compilar a partir de pacotes fonte).
Pesquisando na web mostrahttp://www.ubuntu.com/certification/catalog/component/input/4932/input%3AAlpsPS/2ALPSGlidePoint/ que fala sobre um laptop certificado. E6410 não está listado.
A pesquisa pelo pacote glidepoint revela:

Esse é o pacote correto para instalar? Estou concluindo "não" por causa do comentário acima. Se esse não for o pacote correto, qual devo usar? Se for o pacote correto, por que a mensagem "sem versão atual"?

E isso não mostra nenhum widget que me permita controlar o comportamento do TrackPoint, o que me levou a acreditar que algo estava faltando e, portanto, que eu precisava procurar e instalar alguns pacotes especiais:

Para desativar o DualPoint Stick no Latitude, abra o Terminal e digite:
xinput disable 'AlpsPS/2 ALPS DualPoint Stick'
