No Ubuntu Desktop 22.04 foi executado:

mas o processo de descompactação foi cancelado por ctrl+ c. É porque é necessário a versão 6.1.40. Poucos segundos depois foi executado

sudo dpkg -i virtualbox-7.0_7.0.4-154605~Ubuntu~jammy_amd64.deb

Encontro uma possível solução para usar o comando:
sudo dpkg --remove --force-remove-reinstreq <packagename>
de acordo com a postagem e solução:

Portanto, fiz o seguinte e finalmente funcionou:
sudo cp /var/lib/dpkg/status status.bkp
sudo gedit /var/lib/dpkg/status
Remova a seção que contém a mensagem de erro. No meu caso foi:
Package: virtualbox-7.0
Status: install reinstreq half-installed
Priority: optional
Section: contrib/misc
Architecture: amd64
Version: 7.0.4-154605~Ubuntu~jammy
Observe o status-instalar reinstreq meio instalado
