Recentemente comprei um adaptador wifi USB baseado em chip RT3572, mas não consigo criar um hotspot de 5 GHz, quando tento no Ubuntu 22.04, esta é a saída do dmesg:
aqui está a configuração do meu hotspot (wlx0013eff709bd é o nome que o Ubuntu deu ao adaptador RT3572):
usar iwo comando confirma que pode usar o modo AP
além disso, aqui está a lista de frequências suportadas na banda de 5 GHz:

PS: Eu também tentei conectar este adaptador em meu Raspberry PiOS executando raspAP e tentei criar um hotspot de 5 GHz lá, e esta é a saída do arquivo de log do hostapd (aqui, RT3572 é wlan1):

Eu tinha um ponto de acesso no ponto de acesso WiFi de 5 GHz rodando com Ubuntu 20.04 e hostapd (versão do servidor Ubuntu - sem GUI).
Após atualizar para o Ubuntu 22.04 o ponto de acesso não funcionou mais. A conclusão depois de ler muitas páginas é: há uma mudança regulatória (depende do país) que exige outros padrões 802.11 que não são suportados pelo meu hardware.
Isso pode ser visto claramente no último log que você forneceu:

Instale 20.00 em vez de 22.04 e o AP funcionará em 5Ghz
Opções:
- Falsifique o código do seu condado e tente encontrar um país que permita um AP de 5 GHz
