OK, aqui está a história. Eu tenho um laboratório JDS. C5D USB DAC há cerca de um ano, e ontem quis experimentar o Ubuntu 14.04. Então instalei o Ubuntu, fiz algumas atualizações e conectei o DAC ( sudo alsa reloade killall pulseaudiocomandos foram usados).
Depois que entrei em "Definições de som" e selecionei Saída Analógica para C5D, tentei testar o som. "Frente Esquerda" e "Frente Direita"som produzido como"Hrr Hrrr" e "Hrrr Hrrr". Até tentei tocar algumas músicas e vídeos - mesmo resultado.
Talvez seja um problema de DAC? Então carreguei o Windows e depois o Kali Linux, funcionou perfeitamente em ambos.
Após retornar ao Ubuntu, eu estava tentando ver se o sistema reconhece o DAC corretamente, então esta é a saída para algum comando:

Não tenho problemas com meu C5D no Ubuntu 14.04. Meu PulseAudio daemon.conftem as seguintes alterações, que você pode tentar e ver se resolvem o seu problema:
default-sample-format = s24le
default-sample-rate = 48000
