Kernel personalizado do Debian Testing (Jessie) e instalação do driver ATI interrompida

Estou no Debian Jessie/Sid de 64 bits e tentando usar:

3.12.0-customkernel
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Seymour [Radeon HD 6400M/7400M Series]

Eu instalei os drivers da ATI com base emhttps://wiki.debian.org/ATIProprietary#configure. Estou recebendo "Ah, não! Algo deu errado" em vez do GDM adequado. Removi o arquivo .Xauthority, os arquivos temporários X, etc., mas nada disso ajudou.

Então instalei o driver amd-catalyst-13.11-beta6-linux-x86.x86_64.run encaminhando meu monitor para outro computador. De alguma forma, o driver AMD não foi instalado sem a tela X. Eu criei o xorg.conf inicial com aticonfig. Isso também não funcionou.

Não tenho certeza se estou encontrando um bug aqui ou se algo está corrompido em meu sistema. Neste ponto, estou sem ideias e também não consigo encontrar nenhuma pista na web. Então SU é minha última esperança, eu acho.

Não tenho certeza se você já conseguiu resolver o problema ou passou para outra coisa, mas parece que é um problema com o Xorg mais recente e os drivers catalisadores.

Tive sucesso ao corrigir o driver catalisador no Ubuntu e no Fedora 20, entãodevetrabalho em Jessie, mas eu mesmo não testei.

Depois de baixar o Catalyst, extraia o arquivo .run

abra o diretório onde você extraiu o driver:, catalyst/common/lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod/kcl_acpi.cvá até a linha 990 e substitua tudo isso (até o final do arquivo) por:

Em seguida, use o ati-installer.shscript incluído no driver para construir pacotes Debian ou apenas compilá-los e instalá-los manualmente e isso deve funcionar.
