diff no conteúdo de um arquivo

estou tentando fazer uma comparação em dois arquivos e comparar o conteúdo e se forem diferentes mande um email. Abaixo está o meu script que não consigo trabalhar por algum motivo. Qualquer sugestão é bem-vinda.
