Comportamento estranho do teclado (somente Ubuntu)

Question

Eu tenho oG-LAB Keyz 200 Nteclado conectado a um notebook com dual boot Ubuntu 16.04 / Windows 10 Pro.

Tem um comportamento estranho quando usado no Ubuntu: Tanto left quanto right CTRL, Windowse ALTtodas as teclas se comportam como SHIFTse impossibilitasse o uso, entre outros, dos atalhos das funções de edição.

Solução de problemas:

• Funciona bem, como qualquer outro teclado, no Windows 10.
• O teclado interno funciona bem no Ubuntu e no Windows.
• Testei o teclado em outro PC rodando Ubuntu 18.04 e novamente apresentou o mesmo comportamento.

Pesquisei muito no Google, mas não consegui encontrar nada remotamente semelhante ao problema que estou tendo. A solução de problemas acima parece indicar que não há problema de hardware - o teclado interno funciona bem em ambos os sistemas operacionais e o externo funciona corretamente apenas no Windows 10. Portanto, o problema parece ser específico deste teclado no Ubuntu.

O que pode estar causando esse comportamento estranho e há alguma solução alternativa? Sugestões para solução de problemas adicionais são bem-vindas.

EDITAR: Agora pesquisando pelo identificador de hardware, 1c4f:0056 SiGma Microencontrei outros com exatamente o mesmo problema - mas aparentemente sem solução -:
