Como executo o Gedit no macOS Mojave?

Eu instalei com sucessogeditno meu macOS Mojave através dos MacPorts, mas quando executo, aparece o seguinte e não inicia:

(gedit:96701): Gtk-WARNING **: 10:41:50.162: Locale not supported by C library.

Ele também instalou muitas dependências. Ainda estou faltando alguma coisa?

A solução é instalar o XQuartz (The X Window System para macOS).
