Novo usuário do Linux, tentou usar sudo apt-get upgrade, estava indo bem até que isso aconteceu:
dpkg: error processing package gconf2 (--configure): dependency problems - leaving triggers unprocessed No apport report written because MaxReports is reached already dpkg: too many errors, stopping Errors were encountered while processing: gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 gconf2 Processing was halted because there were too many errors. E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
Toda vez que tento atualizar isso acontece. Tentei remover o gconf2 e reinstalá-lo, tentei sudo apt --fix-broken install
e obtive o mesmo erro. Como faço para corrigir isso?

Tive o mesmo problema com o Linux Mint 19 Tessa.
Isso funcionou para mim:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure gconf2
