Ei, encontrei este erro durante a atualização. Não sei onde foi que estraguei tudo.
Sempre que tento atualizar ou instalar ou até mesmo tentar configurar o dpkg recebo este erro.
Estou enfrentando esse problemadesde 2 semanasdepois de pesquisar muito no StackExchange e UbuntuForum estou postando esta pergunta aqui.

Você deve tentar desinstalar o pacote primeiro e depois tentar instalá-lo novamente.
sudo apt remove --purge gvfs-backends; sudo apt install gvfs-backends
e então faça a atualização:
sudo apt upgrade
