Comprei um WD HD usado na Amazon porque queria um que fosse exatamente igual ao outro que eu lavei.

Não consigo fazer nada com o HD.

A unidade é definitivamente /dev/sdb, mas também monta /dev/sr0

Tentativa remota de redefinição de senha com WD-Decrypte

Também tentei usar o que achei que me permitiria redefinir a senha, se houver. https://github.com/SofianeHamlaoui/WD-Decrypte

Quando eu carrego em gerenciadores de disco (Windows ou Ubuntu), tudo que é útil fica esmaecido. Não consigo verificar o status inteligente, formato, não há letra de unidade.

A unidade aparece no navegador de arquivos do Linux e posso ver alguns arquivos padrão e copiá-los.

Usar smartctl em /dev/sdb não funciona, precisei adicionar a opção -d.

No entanto, isso foi interessante:

Sinto que já vi esse erro de ponte USB antes, mas troquei os cabos caso fosse um problema de cabo físico (não era).

Acho que esses resultados indicam que o disco está presente, mas não há registro? Preciso ativar o smartctl?

Notei isso na documentação:

       smartctl --smart=on --offlineauto=on --saveauto=on /dev/sda
       Enable  SMART  on  drive  /dev/sda, enable automatic offline testing every four hours, and enable autosaving of SMART Attributes.  This is a good start-up line for your system´s init files.  You can
       issue this command on a running system.

SOMENTE LEIA - hdparm e unidade física

Esqueci de mencionar que uma das primeiras coisas que fiz foi emitir estes comandos:

$ sudo hdparm -r0 /dev/sdb 

/dev/sdb:

Isso não fez nada para resolver o status somente leitura.

Além disso, não há chave de bloqueio em nenhum lugar do disco rígido e pressionei o botão liga / desliga várias vezes nas últimas semanas desde que recebi a unidade.

Não tenho certeza do que isso significa, mas vejo muitas mensagens de erro e algo indicando que não estou autorizado.

Depois de seguir alguns conselhos abaixo (@paul-pedant), estou seguindo o caminho muito insatisfatório de reformatar usando o software proprietário da WD. É inacreditável que nenhum desses utilitários de baixo nível possa simplesmente formatar a unidade.

Eu acho que é protegido contra gravação, já que HDDs externos geralmente possuem esse recurso, 'SR0' é provavelmente uma partição OEM com software deste HDD. Eu sugeriria baixar/instalar o software proprietário da WDs na máquina Windows e ver se ele pode fornecer algo útil. Se eu acertar, é uma unidade usada, então o proprietário anterior pode ter bloqueado a unidade ou algo semelhante.

Para todos os efeitos, este é um disco morto. O proprietário original o bloqueou de alguma forma e, portanto, não é mais um dispositivo funcional ou útil.

Recomendação? Não perca mais tempo com isso, devolva-o ao remetente e solicite o reembolso do seu pagamento.

NOTA: O teste de gravação falhou com o erro número 30

torna a resposta do Devourer altamente provável. como errno 30 = sistema de arquivos somente leitura.


Mas isso pode não ser suficiente dependendo da versão do seu kernel/fdisk?

Seu HD parece ter um tamanho de setor lógico/4K físico de 4K.

O antigo linux & fdisk (*) não suportava discos lógicos 4K.

=> Sob tais sistemas, você deve obter? ativar ? algum firmware para que este dispositivo exponha esses setores 4K como 8 setores lógicos contíguos de 512B.


(*) Não é possível dizer com precisão, mas pelo menos Read-hat/CentOS 5, fdisk-2.17 não.
