Por que o cursor do mouse salta quando está na borda direita da tela, causando um comportamento estranho do aplicativo (por exemplo, Eclipse)?

Quando movo o mouse para a borda direita da tela, independentemente da posição vertical ao entrar na borda direita, ele salta para um ponto cerca de 25% abaixo do topo, na borda direita da tela.

Depois disso, notei um comportamento estranho no Eclipse, onde os menus de contexto aparecem no lugar errado (geralmente bem à esquerda do cursor). O problema no Eclipse desaparece após reiniciar o Eclipse, mas volta na primeira vez que movo para a borda direita da tela.

Meu sistema é Mageia 8, desktop Plasma, tema Breeze, Linux 5.10.41, AMD64 (processador Ryzen Threadripper 3960X 24-Core), com duas GPUs NVIDIA (GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER), com um monitor 4k conectado.

O salto do mouse sempre ocorre e é independente de o Eclipse estar em execução.

O problema é causado porque meu xorg.conf tinha duas telas configuradas, mas eu tinha apenas um monitor conectado.

Se eu comentar a segunda Screenna ServerLayoutseção e comentar a Screendefinição da segunda seção no final, o problema será resolvido (após uma reinicialização). O mouse não salta mais na borda e os menus de contexto do Eclipse sempre aparecem sob o cursor.

Este arquivo xorg.conf foi criado pelo instalador do driver NVIDIA.

Obrigado por mostrar onde procurar para corrigir o cursor cruzando a borda direita da tela. Existe uma solução simples: substitua RightOf "screen1"por 0 0na definição de screen2 deixando todos os outros intactos. Você pode usar seu editor de texto favorito para fazer isso (eu uso o gedit), mas lembre-se de que você precisa ser superusuário. O comando CLI é: $ sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.confentão encontre, substitua, salve e reinicialize.
