No TeX, alterar o \hsizee \vsizealtera o tamanho do texto principal e o tamanho da página da saída dvi. Quando compilo um documento com pdftex ou xetex, o tamanho da página permanece em A4. Como posso alterar as margens da página?

\footline{\hfil The page ends here!\hfil\the\pageno}
This document leaves much white space when {\tt pdftex\/}ed or {\tt xetex\/}ed.

This document is by far better! Notice that \TeX{} starts every page
one inch away from the upper and left margin.
This example doesn't compile with {\tt tex} anymore.
