Estou tentando simplificar os estilos de título da scrbook
-class para uso em minha tese, mas não consigo encontrar uma maneira de impedir que os títulos sejam sublinhados e os capítulos marcados por seus números. Aqui está a especificação de classe que estou usando:

De acordo com os comentários à pergunta, a remoção dos pacotes titlesec
e classicthesis
resolveu o problema. Em retrospecto, é aconselhável escolher uma classe completa mais cedo, como o script KOMA sugerido, pois isso economizará tempo com o produto final - em vez de hackear soluções ao longo do caminho.
Acontece que não tive tempo de trocar de turma no momento em que estava escrevendo e reescrevendo o conteúdo, bem como a formatação que já estava bem estabelecida, então optei pela solução sugerida; e produziu um produto final aceitável.
