Como adicionar referências usando BibTex de um arquivo .cls?

Question

Estou usando um modelo de bioinformática com um arquivo bioinfo.cls definido pelo usuário.

Esta é a seção onde é definido o ambiente "Referência".

Quero usar o BibTex usando os arquivos .bib. Tentei adicioná-lo no arquivo, mas as referências não aparecem.
