Incorporar algoritmo em um pôster com várias colunas (multicols)

Estou trabalhando em um pôster que possui várias colunas (via multicols, provavelmente porque há um título de pôster personalizado). Eu sei que posso usar algorithmic2e, mas suponho que só quero continuar algorithmicx- há alguma maneira de lidar com isso?

Package multicol Warning: Floats and marginpars not allowed 
inside `multicols' environment!.

Todas as soluções que encontrei sugerem usar algorithmic2eou declarar document como \documentclass[twocolumn]{article}.

Não tenho certeza de como usar o último com omodelo de pôster.

Graças aDavid Charlisle, eu descobri isso.

A solução é simples, basta substituir:

\begin{algorithm}

com

\begin{algorithm}[H]

e tudo começa a funcionar magicamente. Na verdade, provavelmente deveríamos evitar o uso de ambientes flutuantes dentro de outros ambientes flutuantes.
