O lettrinemanual tem uma sugestão de solução alternativa (p.4)
Se for necessário incluir uma lista num parágrafo que comece por 'lettrine', é necessário adicionar o comando
\parshape=0logo após o final da lista.
Simplesmente escrevendo

nãobastantefunciona, já que a capitular acaba na margem/calha:
Isso parece um bug no lettrine, e não tem nada a ver com o parallel, pois a adição parshape=0coloca a capitulação na margem no uso trivial (e a configuração lhangé ignorada com parshape=0):
\lettrine{T}{est} this is some long text that should wrap onto a second line. It will end with \texttt{parshape=0}. \parshape=0
