Alterar a numeração do teorema exibida

No meu LaTeXdocumento usei teoremas numerados com

\newtheorem{theorem}{Theorem}[section]
\begin{theorem}
......
\end{theorem}

Os teoremas serão numerados por algo como "Teorema 2.1".

Minha pergunta é: como posso me livrar da última menstruação? Quero imprimir o "Teorema 2.1".
