
No meu servidor Apache armazenei vários arquivos docx, xlsx pptx.
Alguns navegadores clientes pensam que estes são arquivos zip normais e alteram a extensão do arquivo durante o download. Como faço para não fazer mais isso.

Os arquivos são, na verdade, ZIPs de documentos XML. Adicione isto ao seu .htaccess no Apache

O servidor não possui tipos MIME adequados configurados para os novos tipos de arquivo ms
adicione o seguinte ao arquivo /etc/mime.types e reinicie o Apache e o problema deverá ser corrigido.

Parece que o seu servidor web está olhando os números mágicos dentro desses arquivos e vendo que eles são arquivos zip.

Downloadhttp://packages.ubuntu.com/oneiric/mime-supporte instale-o com dpkg -i. Funcionou muito bem!
PS: Apache no Ubuntu e Debian lê /etc/mime.types
