Não consigo conectar ao Steam

Não consigo conectar ao Steam

Acabei de instalar o Steam no meu computador, criei uma conta Steam e tentei clicar no ícone do Steam para carregá-lo. Ele me deu o seguinte erro e depois desligou:

Se eu digitar steamno terminal, isso me dá tudo isso:

Alguém sabe por que não consigo carregar o Steam? Minha conexão com a Internet está funcionando obviamente, pois eu não conseguiria digitar tudo isso se tivesse um problema de conexão com a Internet.

Tentei reinstalá-lo várias vezes, mas ainda recebo o mesmo problema.

Em um terminal:

steam --reset

Isso fornecerá uma instalação limpa para o cliente, mas deixará todos os seus jogos intactos.

Esteja ciente de que, embora isso “conserte” seu problema de conexão, é o mesmo que comprar um carro novo para consertar um pneu furado. Provavelmente existe uma solução mais simples e elegante, mas não consegui encontrar uma quando tive esse problema.
