Desinstalei o MAMP completamente, baixei uma nova cópia do MAMP 2 do site do MAMP e fiz uma instalação limpa. No entanto, quando tento iniciar o mysql, recebo o seguinte log de erros

Não tenho ideia de por que isso está acontecendo. Pesquisei no Google e verifiquei se nenhuma instância do MySQL estava em execução. Nada parece ajudar.

verifique seu /etc/my.cnf ou tente renomeá-lo para /etc/my.cnf.old. ou você pode verificar em seu /etc/my.cnf se existe alguma opção --skip-locking ?, basta removê-lo. e tente reiniciar o mysql novamente
