
Estou tendo problemas para conectar-me ao meu Microsoft SQL Server 2005 a partir de uma caixa Red Hat usando freetds. Meu objetivo final é conseguir me conectar usando o PDO do php, mas não consigo me conectar ao testar usando "tsql".
Não acho que seja um problema de firewall, pois posso fazer telnet nele sem problemas.
$ telnet <ip> 1433

Executar o comando abaixo resulta no seguinte:

Acredito que esta seja a configuração correta porque se eu executar o mesmo comando em minha máquina Debian local, ele parece ter sucesso.

Tentei conectar as configurações "TDSVER=7.0", "TDSVER=7.2", "TDSVER=8.0" e todas não funcionam.

O problema era um problema de firewall.
Pelo que posso dizer, quando fiz isso
telnet <ip> 1433
Trying <ip>...
Connected to <ip>.
Na verdade, não estava conectado ao servidor. Se eu desse um minuto, ele se desconectaria. Instalei o Wireshark na máquina e notei que não houve resposta enviada do servidor para a solicitação telnet.
Outra prova de que era um problema de firewall foi que eu conseguia me conectar ao banco de dados de outra máquina, mas não do servidor. Então fiz um túnel ssh para mostrar que não era a forma como a aplicação estava configurada, mas sim a rede.
ssh -L 1433:theServerGivingMeIssues:1433 SQLserver
Consegui me conectar ao servidor sql sem o túnel, mas não consegui com o túnel.
