
Recentemente adicionei umPlaca PCIe SATA StarTech de 4 portaspara um servidor Linux. A placa está conectada via SFF-8087 a um backplane Norco 4224 e 4 novos discos rígidos que eu gostaria de configurar em um novo software RAID.
A mobo (Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5) já possui 8 portas SATA integradas usando um chipset semelhante (2 x chips Marvell 88SE9172), que estão funcionando bem e atualmente estão configurados em 2 RAIDs de software separados (usando mdadm
).
No entanto, o sistema não detecta os novos discos rígidos e também não consigo entrar no BIOS da placa controladora conforme ctrl+M
sugerido pelo manual. Alguém encontrou um problema semelhante ou tem algum conselho sobre como solucionar o problema? Desde já, obrigado!

Finalmente acabamos descobrindo o problema, era o tipo errado de cabo.
Estávamos usando um cabo breakout direto.
Esta configuração específica requer umCabo discreto para SFF-8087 (separação reversa).
Unraid.net temuma explicação da diferença entre cabos SFF-8087 de ruptura direta e reversa, embora por fora pareçam idênticos.

O quinto dispositivo PCI de baixo para cima não é a placa StarTech SATA, mas um chipset Marvell de 6 Gbps.
Não vejo a placa PCI SATA listada. Pode estar com defeito e eu não duvidaria disso. Eu trabalhava em uma loja de informática naquela época que os usava em todos os lugares e eles tinham uma taxa de falha inicial de cerca de 10%. Isso pode ser um viés de amostragem, mas entre várias centenas tenho tendência a confiar na tendência.
Certifique-se de não ter configurações em seu BIOS que desativem placas PCI ou pontes PCIe para PCI. Alguns programas de configuração referem-se a isso como modo "livre de legado".
