No meu debian, após atualizar do MySQL para o MariaDB, não consigo mais iniciar o banco de dados. O erro que recebo é:

Eu tinha em /etc/mysql/my.cnf

 bind-address = localhost

O problema foi corrigido quando mudei localhost para 127.0.0.1 .

 bind-address = 127.0.0.1
