Estou tentando reiniciar automaticamente o fumo a cada cinco minutos usando o crontab (para um teste específico), mas infelizmente não parece estar funcionando.

A razão pela qual não está funcionando é que o padrão do cron PATHé codificado e se parece com isso:

Mais especificamente, o servicecomando não pode ser encontrado. Se você tentar executar, which serviceobterá algo como:
/usr/sbin/service
É por isso que pode ser útil definir explicitamente a PATHvariável em seu crontab.
