Eu estava rodando mce tentei instalar o curl e o postfix no shell: apt-get install curl postfix. Uma caixa de diálogo de configuração para o postfix apareceu e depois de pressionar Ctrl-o (Alternar mostrar/ocultar MC) duas vezes não consegui mais ler a mensagem de configuração, então saí do MC com F10. O processo apt-get ainda existia e eu o matei com sudo kill xxxx. Agora o apt-get não funciona.

e outras soluções apresentadas em diversas questões (1º trimestre,2º trimestre,3º trimestre): apt-get purge postfix, apt-get --reinstall install postfix, dpkg --pending --configure.
Uma pergunta realmente semelhante (duplicada?) ÉErro no postfix, mas não tem resposta.
Como posso consertar o gerenciador de pacotes? Meu sistema operacional é o Debian Jessie.

A remoção manual dos arquivos de configuração funcionou:
rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/postfix.*
apt-get purge postfix
