Estou tentando instalar o GIMP para Ubuntu 12.10 a partir do Ubuntu SW center, mas sempre que tento recebo o replay de que não consigo acessar o repositório e preciso verificar minha conexão com a Internet. Isso está funcionando corretamente com Firefox e Thunderbird. Além disso, aparece a informação de que um programa não seguro não pode ser instalado por falta de autenticação. Alguém pode dar alguma explicação?

Abra um terminal,
Pressione Ctrl+ Alt+T
Executá-lo:
sudo -i
nano /etc/apt/sources.list
No arquivo aberto, exclua o conteúdo e cole isto:

apt-get clean
