Как найти причину потери пакетов?

Я пользуюсь Интернетом из своего университета. Все комнаты и офисы подключены кабелем Ethernet через множество коммутаторов. Часто у меня происходит потеря пакетов, я думаю, что один коммутатор или модем проблемный. Как определить причину? (Я знаю, что много информации отсутствует, но скажите мне, что вам нужно знать, и я обновлю вопрос)
