Как оставить достаточно места для рукописных заметок на страницах в две колонки

Я хотел бы оставить достаточно места на полях страниц, чтобы можно было делать ручные аннотации в файле PDF. Документ имеет twocolumnsи генерируется с помощью класса документа IEEEtran.

Например:

Текст занимает большую часть страницы. Я бы хотел сохранить twocolumnsструктуру, но иметь больше места для рукописных пометок.
