Почему мой /usr/share/file/magic не загружается в PHP на CentOS?

Вот что я делаю:

$ php

$finfo=finfo_open(FILEINFO_MIME, '/usr/share/file/magic');

Это чистая установка CentOS 5.5, PHP 5.3. Файл /usr/share/file/magicсуществует и доступен.
