Полагаю, что-то случилось, и файлы каким-то образом были повреждены, и хотя Live CD и USB работали на других компьютерах, этот ноутбук отказывался даже распознавать вставленные диск и USB, из-за чего мне пришлось столкнуться с адской функцией Grub Recover.

К счастью, я использовал Sony Vaio, на котором есть эта замечательная кнопка ASSIST. Чтобы использовать ее, полностью выключите ноутбук, затем вместо нажатия кнопки питания просто нажмите кнопку ASSIST. Это принудительно откроет Sony Recovery Console.

Отсюда можно восстановить ОС, проверить и восстановить жесткий диск, а также получить доступ к BIOS... что я и сделал.

При предыдущем посещении BIOS я изменил параметры загрузки на LEGACY, чтобы установить другую ОС с Windows 8. Поэтому я изменил их с Legacy обратно на UEFI и дважды проверил порядок загрузки. Затем я сохранил, перезагрузил и теперь у меня есть возможность выбрать ОС.

Моя система Windows вообще не загружается в устаревшем режиме — я считаю, что вам нужно будет снова включить UEFI, чтобы запустить Windows 8. Если возможно, иногда есть вариант загрузки UEFI / без безопасной загрузки, который подходит мне лучше всего.
