Отсутствуют символы gcov в mingw в Ubuntu 16.04

Перед обновлением с Ubuntu 14.04 до Ubuntu 16.04 я мог бы скомпилировать следующий код с помощью mingw-64-gcc

x86_64-w64-mingw32-gcc -fprofile-generate -o test.exe test.c -lgcov -static

//test.c
#include <stdio.h>
int main(void)
{puts("test");return 0;}

Теперь программа не может быть скомпонована из-за отсутствующих символов __gcov.

Что изменилось между двумя версиями Ubuntu. Любая помощь будет оценена.

Я столкнулся с той же проблемой и смог обойти ее, указав ссылку на , -fprofile-arcsа не на -lgcov.
