No puedo desinstalar Scala

Instalé Scala usando cs setupcomo se describe en el sitio web de Scala:https://www.scala-lang.org/download/

Ahora no puedo desinstalarlo por alguna razón. Lo intenté sudo apt-get purge scalay sudo apt-get remove scalasolo aparece "El paquete 'scala' no está instalado, por lo que no se eliminó". Sin embargo, el comando scalasigue funcionando.
