¿Cómo escribir texto manualmente en paralelo en páginas opuestas en (Lua)LaTeX?

Question

Quiero componer un texto bilingüe en paralelo en páginas opuestas usando LuaLaTeX. Las soluciones existentes para automatizar esta tarea han resultado insatisfactorias ya que no permiten notas a pie de página (paralelas), no permiten diferentes tamaños de fuente de los dos textos paralelos (eledpar), o, en general, proporcionan un resultado deficiente de fragmentos de texto alineados (eledpar).

Como el texto no es demasiado largo, realmente llegué a considerar romper las páginas yo mismo. Para hacer esto, tengo que resolver los siguientes problemas:

Considere dos páginas enfrentadas con párrafos finales de diferente longitud. Los siguientes párrafos deben comenzar en la misma posición vertical, de modo que los comienzos de los siguientes párrafos estén uno frente al otro. Para que esto se logre, tiene

1. para determinar la posición del final del párrafo más largo en su página
2. tener los medios para permitir que los siguientes párrafos paralelos comiencen en la posición identificada.

¿Es esto algo factible? ¿Existen mecanismos proporcionados por (Lua)LaTeX para determinar las posiciones en una página y comenzar a componer en una posición específica en una página?

EDITAR: El siguiente ejemplo ilustra la tarea. Aquí el párrafo latino que comienza con "O tempora, o mores" (tercer fragmento de texto en el código) debe comenzar en la posición enfrentada al comienzo del párrafo "Vergüenza para la época..." (quinto fragmento).

Sé que esta es una vieja pregunta que no ha visto ninguna actividad desde hace bastante tiempo. Este tema es muy cercano a mi corazón ya que he utilizado muchos textos en latín durante mis estudios en la universidad.

Como filósofo e historiador, a menudo he utilizado traducciones de textos antiguos y siempre me pregunté cómo componerlos. Sólo puedo imaginar la pesadilla que debería ser esta tarea si uno usara un procesador de textos normal.

Como estoy seguro de que este es un tema/problema al que se enfrentan muchos en la parte de estudios clásicos de las humanidades, me gustaría dar un ejemplo mínimo que ilustra las maravillosas posibilidades del paquete reledmacand reledpar.
