Quiero que mis teoremas, lemas, etc se cuenten de la siguiente manera con sección incluida:

Lemma 2.2
Proposition 2.3
Corollary 3.4

etc.

También intenté crear un nuevo contador pero tampoco se solucionó el problema.

Puede lograr su objetivo de formato agregando las siguientes instrucciones al preámbulo:

Las tres primeras instrucciones sirven para desdefinir los entornos corollary, lemmay . propositionLas siguientes tres instrucciones recrean estos entornos, esta vez con sus contadores vinculados a theorem, el contador del theorementorno. La instrucción final subordina el theoremcontador al sectioncontador. Dado que los contadores de los otros tres entornos similares a teoremas están vinculados al theoremcontador, también estarán subordinados al sectioncontador.
