Então eu fiz uma nova instalação do 14.04 lts hoje e queria instalar o gnome shell ou o ubuntu-gnome-desktop no meu linux, mas há um problema aí:

Então .. minha pergunta é o que está acontecendo aqui. A propósito, eu costumava obter o gnome-shell nem uma vez e estava funcionando. De qualquer forma, tentei de tudo em outros tópicos e daqui:Como resolvo dependências não atendidas após adicionar um PPA?também. Nada funcionou.

OK, aqui está o que eu fiz e o que resolveu esse problema de alguma forma.
Instale synapticse abra-o. Quando você estiver lá, procure por isso gnome-settings-daemon-schemas. Clique com o botão direito sobre ele e Instalar/Atualizar/Atualizar (o que quer que mostre e seja semelhante a ele). Eu também atualizei outros arquivos comgnomoem nome para qualquer caso. Applye reinicie.
Tristemente.. não foi o fim para mim. Não consegui fazer login e tudo que tive que fazer foi
CTRL+ALT+F1
..login e
$ Sudo apt-get install gnome
..Reinicie e tudo funcionou bem. Se você quiser o Ubuntu Unix Desktop, basta instalá-lo manualmente.
