Pergunta/Problema
- Meu código está correto/prática recomendada para a finalidade pretendida?
- Eu não entendoaudaciosoCaracteres chineses, embora me pareçam disponíveis.
- Estranhamente, até mesmo os marcadores
itemizemudaram na parte chinesa. - Quando adiciono
\babelfont[chinese-simplified]{sf}{Noto Sans CJK SC}(fonte chinesa Sans Serif), recebo um erro:! Package fontspec Error: The font "NotoSansCJKSC" cannot be found.. Não entendo por que (NotoSansCJKsc-Regular.otfestá na mesma pasta de fontes queNotoSerifCJKsc-Regular.otf.).

A partir dos comentários, descobriu-se que você copiou as fontes CJK em sua árvore principal do TeXLive. O TeX não consegue encontrá-los, a menos que sejam indexados.
Você pode carregar as fontes por nome de arquivo (veja abaixo) ou instalar as fontes em sua árvore texmf local.
Você pode encontrar isso executando:
kpsewhich -var-value=TEXMFHOME
